The Tunnel Hill State Trail is a bicycle trail running from Eldorado to Karnak, Illinois. Harrisburg has a shop, "You're So Vane" which has a website. The trail is covered very well with shade from just south of Harrisburg to Karnak. About halfway to Vienna, look for the ghost town of Forman to your left. A very nice TH with a small museum, restrooms opened early and a nice place to picnic. I rode it to Stonefort. Gorgeous woodland as you cross thru Shawnee. The rangers told us that riders frequently run into the walls. This was our first time on the trail. It's a Virtual size geocache, with difficulty of 1, terrain of 1. At this time of year, you can also see a few pollinator gardens that the staff planted along the main path. Vienns has a nice trailhead in a park with a rail museum too. Her home is in a gorgeous country setting, decorated beautifully with antiques, the rooms are clean, beds comfortable and the bathroom is stocked with supplies in case you forget anything. I don't recommend narrow racing tires because of the loose rock in spots, but mostly the trail is hard packed crushed rock and is very enjoyable to ride on.
